What are EC mirrors?

EC mirrors are dimmer mirrors made with electrochromic (EC) materials. As sensors detect the volume of light emitted from the headlights of vehicles approaching from behind, the mirror will change color or automatically dim brightness. They possess a structure wherein EC layers are placed between metal electrode films that function as both a transparent electrode film and mirror
