Geomatec, we strive to maintain the highest level of scientific and professional
integrity among our staff. Our current staff consists of skilled scientists and
technical specialists in the following areas: Geography and urban planning, Remote
Sensing, Environment, Geology, Civil engineering, Mapping and Geodesy, networking
and E-commerce, in addition to computer science and internet technology. Geomatec
may also call upon researchers from the Departments within Bahrain Centre for
Studies and Research, who specialize in other areas such as economics and social
studies, energy, and marine ecology. Moreover, there are specialists in various
other fields in the local universities and other government organizations with
whom Geomatec maintains a close working relationship. Furthermore,
Geomatec is committed towards manpower development and capacity building with
the aim of training and maintaining a team of qualified nationals in the geo-spatial
technology field. Hardware
and Software:
In addition to the full suit of ESRI GIS and mapping
software which most of the applications are build on, Geomatec has expertise and
working knowledge with the following major GIS and remote sensing software: - Intergraph:
(Geomedia, MGE, and softcopy photogrametry tools)

and 3-D graphics software.
Our main hardware components include
a Large Anatech scanner (eagle 4080 ET), a state of the art plotter (Roland High-Fi
Jet), high-end NT workstations and PCs in addition to a high-end photogrametry
workstation from Intergraph. The network configuration at Geomatec consists
of the latest CAT5&6 at 100 Mbps connection speed with 4 main dedicated servers
(web application, data server, mail server, and a back-up server). The internet
connection is through a dedicated leased line at 250 kbps. |
